Goodmade Partners

Build pipeline.
Not payroll.

Goodmade Partners runs your outbound business development as a managed service. We research utility rebates and incentives, find the buildings worth calling, reach the people who approve upgrades, and hand your team qualified opportunities.

From incentive research to your estimator.

  1. Stage 1 of 5: Incentive research

We map the utility rebates, efficiency programs and other incentives that can make commercial lighting and electrical upgrades more attractive in your territory.

Output: Incentive map for your territory

  2. Stage 2 of 5: Prospect identification

We find the commercial buildings those programs may fit, using building type, equipment age, operating hours and the utility that serves them.

    Output: Prioritized facility list

  3. Stage 3 of 5: Decision-maker outreach

Targeted campaigns reach owners, facility managers and the people who approve capital spending, with a message about their building rather than your company.

    Output: Live conversations

  4. Stage 4 of 5: Qualification

We confirm project relevance, existing equipment where we can learn it, timing, incentive considerations and genuine interest before anything reaches you.

    Output: Qualified opportunities

  5. Stage 5 of 5: Client handoff

The opportunity reaches your team with its context and contacts, so your estimator starts informed and can focus on evaluating, pricing and closing.

Output: Opportunity brief for your estimator

What stays with your team: Site and technical evaluation, Formal incentive eligibility verification, Quotes and proposals, Project delivery and installation.

Outreach with an economic reason to talk.

Generic agencies buy a list and ask for a meeting. We start from the incentives that can change a project’s economics, and we work only for commercial lighting and electrical contractors, so every first conversation is about the prospect’s building, not your company.

Generic outbound

Starts with
A purchased contact list
Contacts
Anyone whose title sounds roughly right
Opens with
“We’re a contractor. Any lighting projects coming up?”
Gives a reason to reply
Rarely. It asks for time and offers nothing specific.

Incentive-driven outbound

Goodmade
Starts with
The utility rebates and efficiency programs active in your service area
Contacts
Owners and facility managers of buildings those programs may fit
Opens with
“A utility program may cover part of upgrading your warehouse lighting. Worth a look?”
Gives a reason to reply
Yes: a possible economic benefit tied to their own building.

How we find buildings worth a call.

Large footprints, long operating hours and older lighting, in territories where incentive programs are active: the plants and warehouses where an upgrade is most likely to make financial sense.

Facility signals we look for

How a building earns a place on the prospect list

  • Building type

Warehouses, manufacturing, retail, offices, schools, parking structures

  • Legacy equipment

Metal-halide, high-pressure sodium or older fluorescent fixtures

  • Operating hours

Long or round-the-clock hours that make efficiency savings matter

  • Utility territory

Served by a utility with an active commercial efficiency program

How an incentive can change the business case

Illustrative proportions

What the facility manager takes to whoever signs

Net investment÷ (Annual energy savings+Maintenance avoided) =Simple payback
A smaller net investment shortens the payback, which is what gets an upgrade approved. Program amounts and eligibility vary by utility, change over time, and are confirmed only by your team and the program. Some projects will not qualify.

Built for established contractors.

Our clients already know how to evaluate, price and deliver commercial work. They want more of it, without building a sales department to feed their estimators.

  • Commercial lighting contractors

Firms that design, supply and install lighting for commercial and industrial buildings and want more projects to price.

    • Interior LED retrofits
    • Exterior and site lighting
    • Lighting controls
  • Lighting retrofit and energy-efficiency firms

Teams whose proposals already lean on energy savings and incentive programs, and who need more owners to bring them to.

    • Retrofit projects
    • Energy-efficiency upgrades
    • Utility-program projects
  • Commercial electrical contractors

Established electrical firms building a steadier stream of upgrade work alongside their bid work.

    • Lighting upgrades
    • Electrical infrastructure improvements
    • Controls and retrofit work

A good fit if

  • You already deliver commercial projects
  • Your estimators have room for more work
  • You want growth without adding sales headcount
  • Your market has active utility incentive programs

Lighting and electrical come first. The method applies wherever incentives change a project’s economics, and we expect to take it into adjacent trades over time.

Why a managed function instead of another hire.

Engaging Goodmade still takes onboarding and campaign setup, and no one can promise people never change jobs. What changes is who carries the process once it runs.

A salary is only the visible part of a hire.

Building an internal sales development function means recruiting, paying, training, equipping and managing someone, then waiting for them to become productive. If they leave, you do it again.

Build versus buy, with your own numbers.

With the defaults, an internal SDR costs an estimated $81,590 in year one. Goodmade is $42,000. Adjust any assumption to match your market.

Internal SDR $81,590, Goodmade $42,000, estimated savings $39,590, 48.5%.

What makes up the internal cost

  • Salary$60,000
  • Employer payroll taxes$4,590
  • Benefits$10,000
  • Recruiting and onboarding$3,000
  • Sales software$3,000
  • Other overhead$1,000

Assumptions are illustrative. Salary and payroll tax are standard employment costs; the other defaults are estimates, not universal figures.

This compares expenses only. It does not imply that the retainer buys a full-time employee’s hours, or that either option guarantees meetings or sales.

It leaves costs out. Management time, ramp-up and the disruption when a rep leaves are real costs the calculator does not put a number on.

About Goodmade Partners

Goodmade Partners was founded on a simple belief: specialized business development shouldn’t require building an expensive internal department. The work takes commercial sales experience, a working knowledge of how utility incentives shape a project, and the discipline to run outbound properly, week after week. We bring those together as a service, so the companies best at delivering projects can spend their time estimating, proposing and building them.

Questions, answered.

Anything else is easier to cover in a short call about your market.

How is Goodmade different from a lead generation agency?

Lead generation agencies usually sell contacts or booked meetings across any industry. We work as a fractional extension of your business development department in one domain: we research the incentives that make a project worth discussing, find the buildings and decision-makers where they may apply, run the outreach and qualify interest before anything reaches your team.

Why not just hire an SDR?

Sometimes that is the right call, and a hire gives you a dedicated person. It also brings payroll, benefits, recruiting, software, management time, ramp-up and turnover risk. Goodmade is a managed service rather than a full-time employee: the retainer buys a running process with specialized knowledge, at a fixed cost. The calculator above compares the expense using your own numbers.

What does the $3,500 monthly retainer include?

Incentive research for your service area, prospect identification and list building, targeted multi-touch outbound campaigns, reply handling and qualification, handoff of qualified opportunities with context, and regular reporting. The outreach tools and data we use are included. We agree the exact scope and territory on the discovery call.

How do you identify businesses that may qualify for utility incentives?

We start from the published utility and efficiency programs in your area, then look for property types, equipment profiles and operating patterns that tend to match them. We flag potential relevance; eligibility is confirmed only through your technical review and the program's own process.

How long does it take to launch a campaign?

Plan on a few weeks of onboarding first: your service area, capabilities, ideal projects and messaging, plus incentive research and campaign setup. We give you a specific timeline once we understand your market.

Do you guarantee a certain number of appointments?

No. Results depend on your market, the incentives available, your offer and timing. We commit to the work itself (research, outreach and qualification) and report on it transparently.

Who handles proposals and closing?

You do. Site evaluations, formal incentive eligibility verification, quotes, proposals, project delivery and installation all stay with your team.

Do we need an existing sales team?

No. You do need someone who owns an opportunity once we hand it over, usually an owner, estimator or project manager who can respond promptly.

Is this a full-time SDR for $3,500 a month?

No. Goodmade is a managed service, not staffing. You are not renting an employee's hours; you are engaging a business development function whose scope we agree with you up front.

Growth shouldn’t require another full-time hire.

Tell us about your market and your capacity for more commercial work. We’ll tell you honestly whether the incentive landscape gives us something to build on.
